The TruAge app gives you a faster, safer way to prove your age when making age-restricted purchases while keeping your personal information secure.
After a cashier scans your unique QR code in the app, TruAge confirms you’re good to go. No need to manually review your driver’s license or enter your DOB.
TruAge only looks at the four data points that verify your legal age, compared to the 33+ pieces of personally identifiable information (PII) like full name and weight that other systems can expose.
TruAge never stores or shares personal details. An encrypted ID token ensures that purchases can’t be tracked or tied to your name.
The TruAge app is free app available in both the App Store and Google Play Store.
Your TruAge QR code is a single use token, meaning that
once it is generated, it can only be used once. Once
that token has been scanned, it is “expired” in our
system and cannot be used again. In addition, our single
use tokens are only valid for a period of time once they
are generated, regardless of whether they are
scanned/used. Both of these measures are in place to
maximize the security on your account and ensure no one
can take an image of your TruAge token to use as their
own.
To get a new QR Code, simply click Regenate QR Code on
your TruAge app.
You can still use the app without internet access, but
you will need to load the app when you have internet
access prior to checking out. Once you’ve loaded your
unique QR code in the app and have it ready to scan,
you’ll be able to check out without any issue.
In the event you’re unable to access the internet or
app, you can have the cashier scan your physical
driver’s license, which still gives you the convenience,
safety, and security benefits of TruAge over traditional
ID-scanning systems or manual entry methods.
